German Elections
All I can say about the recent elections is "what a sad mess".I was not particularly in favor of one part or the other - as long as someone got something done. Germany needs to keep enacting reforms, while remaining committed to those they've recently pursued. Otherwise the world's 3rd largest economy is destined to stagnate - a fate more dire when put in a global context (just spin your lebensraum globe to the right and stop somewhere between India and China).
Political gridlock was the wicked witch no one wanted to invite to the Reichstag.
To celebrate this dismal turn of events, the Sueddeutsche Zeitung (the NYTimes of Germany) promoted this bit of election humor. You don't need to speak German to have a good laugh.
