I Made It!!!
G´day all!I am in Regensburg, registered, settled into my appartment, and have already started my language classes. This is the first time I have been able to get on the internet, and its not even on my computer. Suffice it to say that its entirely too complicated. Plus, the keyboards are different, with some of the letters moved around, and other letters like: ö ä ü ß µ €, u.s.w.
I´ll post photos as soon as my laptop can hook up to our computer lab...
So this morning I bought my first batch of groceries in a German mart. I had such a great feeling of accomplishment after that! Now I have food (german grocers tend to be closed all sunday and all but 4 hours on Saturday).
All the german students are super nice, all my American fellows are super nice, and things are very pretty, historic, and clean.
United managed to misplace one of my bags on the way over in Heathrow. They did manage to deliver it yesterday, which was über nice. I am pretty well unpacked, and digging my room. Its got a decent bathroom, lots of shelf space, and huge window (that opens up in 2 different ways), a comfertable bed, and retro colored cabnits and curtains. Word.
Heres the touristy tidbit for the day: there are beer vending machines in my appartment complex, for only €0.65 a bottle. And its great by American standards. How cool is that?
Thats all I have time for now - gotta run, things need done.
