Fight the "Induce" Act!

Apparently there is an act being processed by the Hill that would outlaw everything that profits from illegal file sharing, including MP3 players. What bullshit.

Read the article here:
http://smh.com.au/articles/2004/08/18/1092764998284.html

"The Induce Act would give the music industry and/or the owners of musical and other copyrights the power to sue a business seen to be profiting from "encouraging" people to distribute songs, movies or any copyrighted material. That, it seems, means retailers, wholesalers and the makers of these devices. "

My Business School's Ranking

"Excellent news!

In the best public undergraduate business programs offering doctorates, the Leeds School of Business tied for 25th with four other public universities and tied for 41st in both public and private doctoral universities. (we tied for 43rd a year ago)

The Leeds School of Business and the College of Engineering were the only academic programs ranked by U.S. News and World Report in the 2005 Best Colleges Edition."

A Piece from Anna

Dryer

The feelings that tumble round and round
like a dryer half filled with clothes
Bring forth endless pain and confusion that
makes up the better part of work
Too bad that the cycle is a long one spilling
like milk into time of play as well
But that doesn’t matter; we have become
the best of actors in plays that no one writes
And no one ever watches except the rare
few that sees more then the rest
But they are not believed, and everyone is
deceived by their own cheap magic tricks
So I will wash my clothes and hope
everything comes out clean in the end

MP3 Blogs

I have just discovered the joy and wonder of MP3 Blogs! Sites such as

http://newflux.blogspot.com/
and
http://www.tangmonkey.com/blogs/music/

have singles available for DL from all sorts of groups you've never heard of, but should have b/c a lot of it is great! The thing is, they review that song and/or album right there next to the DL link, so you know what you are listening to. The catch is they take the songs off the site after 7 days, so you've got to get 'em while they are hot.

They're "RollingStone meets Napster."
