Midlife Crisis
Europe is a 40 year old in the throws of a midlife crisis. Racing red Ferrari anyone?Or at least that would be the case if we could identify Europe as an entity beyond that of a continent. Americans often think of "Europe this, Europe that" but with the divergence of interests and shaking up of solidarity we see today, that's like lumping Mexico, Canada and the US all together as "North America" - and we all know how well that would go over...
America, on the other hand, is a vital 20 year old determined to test her limits, while also fighting internal battles to decide on her own identity. She may be on top now, but before she knows it, there will be some new kids on the block downtown, smirking at her 30 something suburban complacency.
