News and a Kiss

"Lalalala!"
Looks like I'm going to be singing this semester! I went to the first Uni-Chor (University Choir) rehearsal last night - the director is great fun - but challenging to understand auf Deutsch, the people I have met so far are chill, and we are going to be singing some epic Bach X-Mass pieces. The choir meets every night for 2 hours, and gets out in time for me to swing by my Wohnheim's Bar-Abend (Bar Evening).

The BarAbend is every Monday night from 10pm till 5am. Dollar beers, 3 dollar cocktails (well made too!), lost of dancing people, great music from the resident DJ (who lives on my floor), and lots of fun! Last night was particularly cool while several Germans decided to foster good international relations with me by buying a couple beers and introducing me to a beautiful German girl (from whom I received my first (and not my last...) German-Kiss ;-) ). But the BarAbend really boils down to this: Supposedly one of the best parties for students in town ("Legendary" they say) - and its every Monday night in my complex all through the whole semester!

I have now met everyone on my floor (finally!) and they are total Geil (the rock!)! In fact, most of them were there last night dancing into the wee hours (or spinning the discs). They've all been really helpful with my language, given me great advice on everything, cooked for me, and just been great friends. Looks like I got a lucky floor for the third year in a row!

On a less entertaining and more serious note, I have 1/2 of my big test tomorrow with the other half following right behind on Thursday. I have been holding my own in class, but I'll need all the help I can get - so wish me luck!

For those of you concerned citizens, I DID manage to send off my absentee ballot yesterday. I think I'm going to end up rounding up a bunch of Germans to throw an election party on the second (the night of the 3rd for us, by the time the results hit the news). More on that in a few weeks...

Till Next Time!

Some test results: I scored the highest Note (grade) possible on the first and easier half of my big language test. I took the other half today, and will find out on Monday how I did - for it was much more difficult, and consequently weighs more on my overall score...
