Deutsch News and Ticks

Dear 2004/05 CU study abroad in Germany participants,

I just heard of a couple items that may be of interest to you: 1.  German news by e-mail: you can subscribe to a free service that willsend you German news everyday; you can opt to receive the news in German(highly recommended) or in English or if you don't want to get a dailymessage, you can read the news on their Web site at your convenience. Tosubscribe and/or to read the news, go to:http://www.germnews.de

2. Ticks in Germany: a CU student who is currently studying in Germany wasbitten by a tick and contracted Lyme disease. He is now fully recovered buthe wanted me to warn you about this potential health risk. I know theResident Director in Regensburg informs students there about ticks and Limedisease on site but if you'd like more information now, you can go to:http://english.bad-gmbh.de/leistungen/medizin/reisemedizin/zecken.shtml(German source)http://www.cdc.gov/travel/diseases/lyme.htm (U.S. source)

I hope your summer is going well and that you are working on your Germanspeaking skills! :-)
